Every artist aspires to develop a distinct, personal style. Yet one soon realizes that everything has already been tried and done before. My goal, therefore, is to select from the vast toolbox available to all painters those tools that suit me best and reinforce the message of my paintings. That is especially true for my figurative paintings, in which I am employing abstract and surrealistic elements to make them more intense and expressive.
